Carla Mullins, LMHC, NCC

I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington State and a National Certified Counselor (NCC), with a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Seton Hall University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Washington State University. I have more than twenty-five years of experience in the counseling, human services, and education fields. More importantly, I'm a human navigating life one day at a time, just like you.

I believe therapy can serve as a potent and powerful conduit for healing, a place where you can say the things that you often don't, a cozy nest for sharing your most vulnerable self in search of hope and meaning, a platform for decision-making and action as you forge your way through change and growth.

In therapy speak, I'm theoretically consistent and technically eclectic. What does this mean to you? It means that I conceptualize the human experience through the lens of existential therapy. I believe it is our right and journey as humans to find and create a life of meaning. Our suffering is often the result of things outside of our control. We respond to uncertainty with old behaviors, old traumas, old ways of thinking that we cling to in fear. It's my honor to walk with you on your journey to hope, healing, and action.

I also believe that each individual is unique, with strengths, hopes, and challenges. I have training in a variety of modalities, including EMDR, emotionally focused therapy (EFT), somatic parts work, Lifespan Integration, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, person-centered therapy, DBT, trauma-focused therapy, creative, and more. This allows for our time together to be spent specifically and thoughtfully on you - your needs, your hopes, your yearning for a good and happy life. We will work together to identify an approach to therapy that works for you!

Outside of my professional life, I am a poet, life-long Pacific Northwesterner, football fan, mother of adult children, and friend of cats. I enjoy walking and hiking, reading poetry, cooking, growing giant sunflowers, and exploring the world with my wife.
